Spider Lilly

When I first saw the Spider Lilly, I was completely intrigued by its design. The fragility of it's thin, elongated petals and the tall, threadlike stamens is truly captivating.

It lasts only a day in this healthy-looking state as evidenced by all the other blooms near it. Such an opportunity to find one in this perfect condition is relatively rare. Indeed, when I revisited this particular one about 10 hours later, it had begun to wither. I was particularly pleased to capture this bloom's full beauty.
