The American family farm has an important and tumultuous history. As populations grow and as technology changes, we find ourselves waxing nostalgic about what family farming used to be like. This romanticizing of history is coupled with the actual, physical deterioration of so many structures that once served important roles.

It is the reflection into the past that this series of 10 images serves to illustrate. These windows are on the side of an old chicken coop that hasn't seen practical use in decades. However, the silo companion still overlooks it – perhaps as a sentinel of history. As these partners age, they do so together. I hope you can appreciate the textures and colors that only come from aging beyond a noble past.
